Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 17, 2026
Pliego Files is built privacy-first. We do not collect personal data, there is no analytics or tracking, and we never sell or share your information with third parties. Your files and credentials never leave your device except toward the destinations you choose.
1. Who we are
Pliego Files is a file management app for iPhone and iPad. This policy explains what information is handled when you use the app and its optional services.
2. Data we do NOT collect
We do not collect or store:
- The content of your files, documents, photos, or videos.
- The names of your files or folders.
- Your name, email, phone number, or Apple ID.
- Your location.
- Analytics, usage, advertising, or tracking identifiers.
The app contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
3. Data that stays on your device
Most of your information never leaves your iPhone or iPad:
- Files and metadata: stored locally on your device (and, if you enable it, in your own iCloud).
- Connection credentials (NAS, SMB, SFTP, FTP, WebDAV, S3): stored encrypted in the iOS Keychain. They are never sent to our servers.
- Encrypted vault: vault files are encrypted on-device with AES-GCM; the master key is protected by Face ID/Touch ID in the Keychain and is not synced to iCloud.
4. Connections to your servers and clouds
When you connect to your NAS, server, or cloud service (SMB, SFTP, FTP, WebDAV, S3), the app communicates directly with that destination using the credentials you enter. That data does not pass through our servers. Transfers are governed by that provider's privacy policy.
5. Optional Pliego services (server)
Some features use our server (api.pliegofiles.com): push notifications, sharing over the Internet (links and device-to-device sending), and Premium subscription management. To make these work, the server handles minimal, pseudonymous data:
- A random installation identifier (UUID), not tied to your identity.
- Your push notification token (APNs), so we can notify you of incoming transfers.
- A random account identifier and the hash of a secret (never the secret itself), to group the devices of your iCloud account without knowing your Apple ID.
- Transfer counters (bytes used per month) to enforce your plan's allowance.
- Your subscription status (tier and expiration date), linked to the identifier above.
When sharing over the Internet, files travel end-to-end encrypted: the server only relays encrypted data it cannot read, and does not store it once the transfer completes. Connections within your local Wi-Fi network do not pass through our server.
6. Purchases and subscription
Premium subscription purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment details. Our server only receives a signed receipt from Apple to confirm the subscription is active and apply the Premium tier to your pseudonymous account.
7. iCloud sync
If you enable sync, your metadata and preferences are synced through your own iCloud account (CloudKit/iCloud Keychain). That data travels between your devices via Apple's infrastructure; we do not access it.
8. Retention and deletion
Pseudonymous server data is kept while you use the optional services. You can delete your local data by uninstalling the app. To request deletion of the pseudonymous server data, contact us (see below).
9. Children
Pliego Files is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The current version will be posted on this page with its update date.
